Mistrial In Orange Case of "Crips" Gang Member

Brian Burns

A jury deadlocked surround the murder of an Orange County man over a drug deal gone wrong.

Judge Buddy Hahn declares a mistrial today in the murder trial of James Brocklehurst.

After roughly 8 hours of jury deliberations, the jury declared it could not reach consensus on a verdict and the trial ended.

Brocklehurst is accused of fatally shooting John Talbert in 2006.

Prosecutors say this is not the end of the case.

The case will be reset for trial with a different jury at a time here in the future.

Prosecutors contend Broklehurst was a known member of the "Crips" gang saying they can't discuss why the jury may have deadlocked.
