Jasper Couple Arrested for Alleged Daycare Abuse

News Staff

A Jasper daycare worker and her husband have been arrested as the result of a two-week-long investigation by Child Protective Services (C.P.S.)

KBMT's Brian Burns has more in this on-line video report.

Julie and George Block were arrested early Friday morning after allegations they duct taped a child and suspended him over a dumpster.

Shari Pulliam with C.P.S. has confirmed to KBMT the agency has been investigating a complaint made against the Young Years Day Care Center since March 13. Pulliam says allegations were originally reported over the CPS hotline.

Pulliam says the investigation is not complete. The agency is determining the Block's actions were "harsh, cruel or (an) unusual treatment."

Bond has been set at $5,000.00 dollars each for Mr. & Mrs. Block.

KBMT's Brian Burns will have more on this story tonight at 5, 6 and 10.
