ELECTRICAL INSPECTION POLICY

The City of Beaumont's policy on electrical damage due to Hurricane Ike is as follows:

Residential customers are required to hire an electrician who is licensed by the State of Texas as an electrical contractor to do any repair work. All permit fees will be waived until further notice. The city will not perfom an inspection on the job. The elecrician will fax the address of the work to the City of Beaumont and the city will then notify Entergy of the approval. Electricians can fax the addresses of the completed jobs to the city at 409-880-3110.

Commercial customers are required to hire an electrician who is licensed by the State of Texas as an electrical contractor to do any repair work. Permit fees will not be waived and an inspection will be performed by the City of Beaumont before electrical service is reconnected.

Please call 409-880-3762 with any questions.
