City of Groves updated information

-Currently most of the City streets are clear of debris with public works
removing the debris to the landfill.

-Water services are available, but a "boil water notice" is in effect until the
State of Texas can re certify the water. Sewer service is available city wide
with all City services operating on generators

-Garbage service is operating on a very limited basis. The City has dumpster's
located at the Public Works Operations Center (4925 McKinley) for residents to
clean out refrigerator/ freezers of spoiled food.

-The City is still operating under an 8PM- 6AM curfew until further notice.
This includes limiting business operations during the curfew.

-As of 9-16-08, from 12 noon- 5PM, Bruces' Market Basket will be open to serve
residents.

-On 9-16-08, a POD with water and ice is scheduled to be open at the First
Baptist Church parking lot located at the intersection of 39th street and Grant.

-Fuel may be obtained at Valero, located at 4530 Twin City Hwy, Groves, TX.

-Renaissance Hospital is not open at this time.

-80% of Groves is expected to have electrical power by 9-20-08.

-Red Cross has a water/ food location at Van Buren Elementary School, located at
6400 Van Buren, Groves, TX. through 9-16-08, 1PM.

shelter is overcrowded in port san antonio,there are close to 6000 residents from all over southeast texas,many more came today,we are being treated like prisoners of war,,,,
