Southwest Airlines cancels some flights due to Ike

Brian Burns

(AP)DALLAS — Southwest Airlines Co. said Wednesday it would cancel flights to and from Corpus Christi and Harlingen in south Texas on Friday and Saturday because of the approaching Hurricane Ike.

The airline gave no timetable for resuming flights, saying it would monitor the storm.

Southwest said travelers with reservations to or from Austin, Corpus Christi, Harlingen, Houston Hobby, or San Antonio from midday Wednesday through Monday could rebook on other flights within 14 days without any additional charge.
