Born in Port Arthur, Ashly is a lifelong resident of Southeast Texas, currently residing in Groves. In 1999, he joined the KBMT team as Chief News Editor while also working as a sideline reporter for the Friday Night Sports Blitz.
Ashly is a proud graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School, where he played baseball for the Indians.
Following high school, he attended Lamar State College Port Arthur before transferring to Lamar University where he was a communication major.
In 2004, after four years of reporting, Ashly was promoted to Weekend Sports Anchor, a position he still holds today.
One of his proudest moments in television came in 2003 when the Texas Associated Press honored him with an award for his coverage of high school football.
In his spare time, you can find Ashly enjoying multiple sports, especially baseball. During the summer, he is a member of the Angels in the Southeast Texas Men's Baseball League.
