Michael Seiden is a reporter who joined KBMT in March of 2009. A native of Marietta, Georgia, Michael headed west for college, attending Arizona State University where he graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
While at ASU, Michael worked as a reporter and anchor for Cronkite NewsWatch, an award-winning 30 minute newscast produced by students in the Cronkite School. Michael anchored 3 ½ hours of live election coverage, and helped lead a team of 30 reporters during the historic 2008 Presidential Election. He also worked at a number of campus media outlets, where he reported, anchored and produced the longest student run show at ASU.
For three years Michael also worked as a website intern for the Arizona Cardinals Football Club. During his tenure with the Cardinals, Michael took on many tasks from writing articles to shooting, editing and producing video for azcardinals.com. While working for the team Michael got the opportunity to cover Super Bowl XLII & XLIII.
Although he has never been to Southeast Texas before, Michael says he is very excited to be living in the “Golden Triangle,” and he looks forward to exploring Southeast Texas unique culture.
When Michael isn’t working, he enjoys watching and playing sports, working out, listening to music and trying different kinds of food. He’s already a big fan of alligator and kolache, two foods he had never tried prior to coming to Southeast Texas.
Michael really enjoys meeting new people so don’t hesitate to say hello!
