Brian Burns came here from Lafayette, La. He's familiar to many Southeast Texans after spending six years in Lake Charles on Channel 7 and later on Fox 29/11 TV.
Brian's family is also familiar to many as his daughter, Abrianna Marie and wife Teresa have both made appearances on the morning show to help with various remote broadcasts. Brian’s wife Teresa, a Dallas native, is also in broadcasting and can be heard weekdays on KSET Talk radio, 1300 AM. She is the co host in the afternoon alongside local talk legend Jack Piper.
Brian comes from a broadcast family as his father owned and operated a chain of radio stations in upstate New York. Brian went to work with his dad from the age of 12 spending many Saturday mornings playing newsman behind a microphone in a back studio.
The first time on the radio, Brian hosted a call-in show. After spending many years in radio, Brian switched to television news at Cable News Network in Atlanta. He's been in front of the camera ever since and brings his experience to the KBMT newsroom.
Brian says he may not have been born a Texan, but this state has always felt like home.
