Liz McKernan is a reporter who joined the KBMT 12 ABC/NBC News Team in July 2009. Coming from the dry deserts of Arizona, she graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

While attending ASU, Liz won several prestigious awards including first place for TV feature reporting in the National Hearst Journalism Awards. She also interned in "The Valley of the Sun" for KTVK-TV's "News at Nine" and KPHO-TV's investigative team. While in college, Liz volunteered in Mozambique, Africa, for a summer and traveled with a team of Doctors to Uganda, covering their contributions to the medical community in Kampala.

Liz is excited to start a new life in the "Golden Triangle", and can't wait to start getting to know the people of Southeast Texas - so don't hesitate to email her with story ideas or even some southern cooking recipes! She's looking forward to eating some great food and even going to her first crawfish boil!
