The D.E.S.K. Program, now in it's 15th year, is a community-wide school supply drive that supports needy families throughout Southeast Texas.
D.E.S.K., which stands for Donate Educational Supplies for Kids has been supporting 107 schools in 23 districts in our area. Schools are given vouchers that can be redeemed at local Wal-Mart stores for basic school needs like crayons, paper, glue, and even backpacks for elementary-aged students.
D.E.S.K. kicks off a new campaign each year by having numerous activities such as a car show, penny drive, teacher's appreciation luncheon, bowl-a-thon, golf tournament, and trail ride.
The D.E.S.K. Community partners include KBMT Channel 12, McDonald's, Texas State Bank, Coca-Cola, Kirksey's Spring Printing, Wal-Mart, and Clear Channel Radio.
